What it does

Two styles: Blur fill keeps the whole frame and fills the sides with a soft blurred backdrop; Crop fill zooms in for an edge-to-edge widescreen picture.
Real output quality: choose 1080p (1920 x 1080) or 4K (3840 x 2160) H.264 — a proper video file, not a screenshot trick.

Why it exists

Phones film tall; screens, TVs, projectors, and most editing timelines want wide. Uploading a private clip to some website to fix that is a bad trade. WideIQ does the conversion locally with Apple's own media frameworks, so it is fast, it works in airplane mode, and nothing is ever sent anywhere.
